Techno-Bedouins

My good friend Flutra just sent me a link for an article in the Economist, which talks about the modern nomadic style of the gadget lovers that carry laptops, smartphones, PDAs, UMPCs or whatever.

The article draws some very smart analogies and it comes up with the term "techno-bedouin", which I find really successful.

Bedouins do not carry their own water, because they know where the oases are. Modern nomads carry almost no paper because they access their documents on their laptop computers, mobile phones or online. Increasingly, they don't even bring laptops.

It's economist's special report for this week. It approaches the matter of portability and commuting. I really enjoyed it.
